Next week Fr. John LaRossa will be celebrating both weekend Mass as he makes his appeal for the
Food For The Poor program. Envelopes will be available for this appeal next week in the church
pews. Thank you in advance for your kind support.
This week we will start having Daily Mass on
Fridays at 8:30am. All are invited to join us for coffee and donuts in the Rectory after Mass this
Friday.
Just a reminder that my Installation Mass as Pastor of St. Paul Parish will be held on Sunday, August
11th at the 9am Mass. A parish reception will be held in our parish hall after the Mass. All are invited.
The new outside statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be installed very soon on the pedestal at the
entrance of the Church. We will bless the new statue before the 7pm Vigil Mass for the Solemnity
of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Wednesday, August 14th. Please plan to join us for
this special celebration before the Holy Day Mass in honor of the Blessed Mother.

This week – there will be NO second collection.
Special Appeal for the Homeless Ministry – The Homeless Ministry carried out by
our Society of St Vincent de Paul has been experiencing record numbers of
Homeless this summer. The extreme weather has added to their suffering. We are
in need of donations of items such as nutritional shakes, protein/granola bars, trail
mix, travel size tissues and hand sanitizer. Any donation will be gratefully accepted
and appreciated.
Food Closet – Any monetary donations to assist with the purchasing of
Bread/Milk/Eggs vouchers from the Sunset Market downtown will be deposited and
remitted through our parish. Please make checks payable to: St Paul Parish. There
are Special Offering Envelopes on the windowsills. Please notate Food Closet.
Our Parish Bazaar is scheduled for Saturday Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024.
We are looking for new people to join our group of crafters and workers. If you are

St. Margaret of Scotland will hold its 5th annual Outdoor Marketplace on Saturday,
9/28 from 8 AM to 2 PM in the church parking lots, located at 2431 Frazer Road,
Newark, DE 19702. Please note this is a rain or shine event. Reservations are $37
for a 17’ x 18’ space will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of
your payment. Registration deadline is 9/21/24.
National Night Out – Tuesday, August 6th between 6 pm and 9 pm in Battery Park,
Delaware City. This a community event that celebrates our law enforcement officers
and first responders. Music by What The Funk. Bring a chair or blanket – Free harbor
cruises – Kids activities – Family Fun.
